It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is likely to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
