I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
