Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an special katana alongside numerous objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
